Symptoms of Birth Trauma
Part 2

Symptoms related to birth trauma can include issues such as:

  • restlessness
  • inability to settle
  • difficulties with nursing
  • latching-on or feeding
  • tongue ties
  • difficulty sleeping and settling
  • colic and other digestive issues
  • respiratory issues such as asthma
  • excessive sinus congestion

The effects of compression, rotation, torsion and restriction can also result in birth trauma whose manifestations can be far more severe. In extreme cases it can cause:

  • brain damage, such as cerebral palsy,
  • mental delay, slow development or autism

In less severe cases it can lead to:

  • dyslexia
  • dyspraxia
  • learning difficulties
  • ADHD diagnosis and general hyperactivity
  • epilepsy
  • obsessional behaviour
  • personality disorders and a wide range of developmental difficulties.

In later life, birth trauma may contribute to a susceptibility to allergies, asthma, migraine, squint, chronic ear infections and a whole multitude of other disorders as well as influencing the development and health of the body's systems, such as the nervous system, digestive system and the immune system.

Even in individuals who enjoy a 'normal' level of heath, the nature of our birth can play an important role in determining every aspect of our nature – our physical constitution, our underlying health and strength, mental ability, emotional stability, muscular co-ordination, and motor skills.
